2020 KSS Postponed Following Govt Ban On Picnics

The Convener Kyegh Sha Shwa (KSS) festival Very Rev Fr. Solomon Ukeyima, has announced postponment of the 2020 edition of the festival.

KSS was billed to hold between 25th and 26th December, 2020, in Gboko, the administrative headquarters of Tiv nation.

However, last week, the Benue State Government placed ban on the holding of picnics during the 2020 Christmas and 2021 New Year Day celebrations in the state.

Governor Samuel Ortom, who announced the measure while briefing journalists shortly after the State Security Council Meeting at the Benue People’s House Makurdi, cited Covid-19 protocols and security situation in the state, urging the people of the state to celebrate the festivities with their families at home.

The Convener, in a less than four minutes video, shared on his Facebook page: Solomon Mfa, urged those intending to attend the festival to celebrate at hom with their families.

He said the development is in view of Covid-19 measures.
